CI run 8789 warned on both:

- kit 3 deprecates `config.alias`. The $test-utils alias becomes a
`#test-utils/*` subpath import, matching #lib, and its 43 import sites
  move with it.
- Vite's coming native config loader needs the extension on
  vitest.config.ts's import of vite.config.

bvandeusenandClaude Opus 5.5 94a9c8cbe3 chore(deps): SvelteKit 3 with adapter-static 4 and TypeScript 6, full-tree npm audit (#5021)
Merges Renovate's kit 3 (PR #149) and adapter-static 4 (PR #148) bumps,
plus the migration they need. The mechanical part is `sv migrate
sveltekit-3`, run one task at a time and reviewed:

- svelte.config.js is gone. Its options move into sveltekit() in
vite.config.ts, exported as kitOptions so vitest.config.ts runs the
same kit setup, including the $test-utils alias the tests import.
- $lib becomes #lib through package.json "imports". There is no
src/lib/index, so only the "#lib/*" entry is kept.
- tsconfig extends $app/tsconfig.
- Peer floors raised to kit 3's requirements: svelte ^5.57.1, vite
  ^8.0.12, svelte-check ^4.7.5.

By hand, from the codemod's list of non-automated tasks:

- goto's replaceState option is now replace; keepFocus becomes
reset: false. For the search typeahead, reset: false also stops the
scroll-to-top, which is wanted while typing.
- The test setup mocks drop pushState/replaceState and $app/paths
base/assets, which kit 3 removed, and mock refreshAll in place of
  invalidateAll.
- The other flagged files only read page.url or goto internal routes,
  so they needed no change.

TypeScript goes to ^6, not the ^7 Renovate offers: kit 3 declares
typescript ^6 as a peer and svelte-check 4.7 accepts ^5 || ^6. Move to
7 once both accept it.

With Tailwind 4 and kit 3 in, `npm audit` on the whole tree reports 0,
so the web lane now audits every dependency rather than only what
ships to browsers.

Renovate's tailwindcss bump (PR #150) plus the migration it needs:

- Theme moves from tailwind.config.js into app.css as `@theme inline`,
mapping the same FabledSword tokens. tailwind.config.js is gone.
- PostCSS runs @tailwindcss/postcss; autoprefixer is dropped, since
Tailwind 4 prefixes through Lightning CSS.
- Class renames from @tailwindcss/upgrade 4.3.3, reviewed: outline-none
  -> outline-hidden, focus-visible:outline -> outline-solid, shadow ->
  shadow-sm, shadow-sm -> shadow-xs, flex-shrink-0 -> shrink-0. Bare
`rounded` stays: v4 keeps it at 0.25rem, as before.
- Three v3 preflight defaults kept in a base layer so nothing changes on
screen: gray-200 default border colour, gray-400 placeholder text and
  the pointer cursor on buttons.
- The unused class-based dark variant is not carried over; no template
  uses `dark:`.

Clears the five high and two moderate npm audit findings that came in
through Tailwind 3 (braces, chokidar, micromatch, fast-glob,
postcss-selector-parser).

bvandeusenandClaude Opus 5.5 b46c080d19 fix(web): all accent text and icons use accent-fg (#5318)

The raw accent fails AA as text on every dark surface, not only on its
own tint: 3.04:1 on the page, 2.70 on iron, 2.21 on slate, against 4.5.
accent-fg (the house formula, 45% toward parchment) measures 5.62 at
worst across both modes. The operator chose the readable colour over the
signature teal for text, on 2026-10-08.

- 36 sites swap. They are 35 Tailwind uses: links, "Now playing", the
ingest progress line, active shuffle/repeat, the liked heart, the app
download icon and its hover. The last is the alphabet rail's pending
spinner in CSS. Icons follow the text: as graphics they need only
3:1, and the raw accent misses even that on iron.
- check-tint-contrast adds accent to TEXT_NEVER_RAW, so a new raw
text-accent or color: var(--fs-accent) fails the web lane. Run against
the files before the swap, it finds all 36. Borders, rings and fills
  keep the raw accent.

bvandeusenandClaude Opus 5.5 fdee77eaec fix(web): text on a tint of its own hue uses the house -fg tokens (#3150)

A hue painted as text on a color-mix tint of itself sits close to the
surface under it. On Minstrel's surfaces the raw accent on its 15% tint
measures 1.97:1 at worst (dark mode, hover surface), against AA's 4.5.

- tokens.json gains colors.fg: the five FabledSword -fg formulas (accent
45%, success 45%, warning, error and info 50%), each mixed toward
parchment so one declaration serves both modes. Success is Minstrel's
moss. tokens-to-css emits them in :root.
- Tailwind exposes them as text-accent-fg, text-warning-fg, text-error-fg
  and text-info-fg.
- 23 sites swapped: 14 Tailwind class strings (PlayerBar and the admin
count pills) and 9 CSS rules (StatusPill's four tones and five accent
  chips). Worst case after: accent-fg 5.03, error-fg 4.75, warning-fg
  4.92, success-fg 4.85.
- scripts/check-tint-contrast.js finds the pair in either spelling. Its
test scans src in the web Vitest lane and fails on any new site, with
fixture cases showing it can fail.

bvandeusen 845f45fb0b refactor(web): one relativeTime for the triage surfaces — #2527
test-web / test (push) Successful in 40s
Admin quarantine, admin playback-errors and library/hidden each carried
a byte-identical private copy of the same coarse "3d ago / 5h ago /
12m ago / just now" formatter. Writing the missing-files surface would
have made it four, so extract it instead.

They are one concept, not three that happen to look alike: each shows
the age of something an operator is deciding about, and they have to
agree -- a row reading "2d ago" on one screen and "2 days" on another
makes the reader wonder whether the two mean different things.

Three near neighbours are deliberately NOT folded in, because they are
different intents rather than drifted copies:
  - HistoryRow shows a weekday and clock time under a week ("Tue 21:40"):
for listening history, WHEN you played something beats how long ago.
  - ActiveSessions.when() writes prose ("1 hour ago", "yesterday") and
falls back to a locale date past 30 days -- a security surface where
    the longer form reads better.
  - PlaylistCard.refreshedLabel() is day-boundary aware and prefixed
("Refreshed today"), and already carries a comment saying it is
    deliberately not the m/h-ago style.
Merging any of those would mean forcing one caller's wording onto
another, which is the wrong-abstraction failure, so they stay put.

Tests pin the boundaries the copies never covered: each unit step, that
only the largest whole unit is reported (25h is "1d ago", never
"1d 1h ago"), and that a future timestamp from a skewed client clock
degrades to "just now" instead of rendering a negative age.

bvandeusen 4509f740f8 feat(web): sort the genre index A–Z as well as by count — #2468
test-web / test (push) Successful in 38s
Operator decision: the taxonomy this task proposed is cancelled. With their
repaired library measured — 391 genres, 90,774 tag applications over ~24,185
tracks, so ~3.7 genres per track — multi-membership already puts each track
under everything it claims, and grouping would add nothing while destroying
real specificity (Neurofunk, Wassoulou, Soukous are not noise).

The task's premise was also wrong. It argued from case variants, "Alt. Rock"
abbreviations and a junk tail; none exist. That apparent mess was the scanner
welding multi-value tags (#2499) plus ghost rows from deleted files (#2523),
both ours, both now fixed. A category system would have papered over both.

So the ask reduces to sorting and search. The search box already existed
(QuickFilter, with its own no-matches state), so this adds only the sort:
count-first by default — the server's order, and the right default since the
head is where you're going — or A–Z for when you can already name the thing
but can't find it among 391 rows. The filtered count now reads "12 of 391"
so a filter's effect is visible.

Client-side only: /api/library/genres is unpaged and already returns the whole
set (~12KB), so neither control needs a round trip or a server change.

Two things the tests pin down:

- The sort COPIES before sorting. With no filter applied the derived list is
the very array held by the query cache, and Array.sort mutates in place —
sorting it directly would reorder cached data under every other consumer.
- Count mode passes the server's order through rather than re-sorting. The
fixture is deliberately not in count order so the test asserts pass-through
  instead of coincidence.

Verified locally: svelte-check 0 errors, 110 files / 788 tests.

bvandeusen feb1c2eca8 feat(web): genre and year browse pages — #367
test-web / test (push) Successful in 33s
Client half of #367. Two new Library tabs, each an index plus a drill-down.

Genres are ordered by track count rather than alphabetically. Raw ID3 carries a
long tail of one-off tags, so alphabetical would bury the handful of genres you
actually have a library's worth of. Years are grouped into decades — a flat
list of every year in a decades-deep library is a wall of numbers, and the
decade is how people actually think about it.

## Selection travels in the query string, not the path

`?g=Rock%2FPop`, not `/library/genres/Rock%2FPop`. A slash-bearing genre cannot
survive a path segment — the server sees two segments, and a hard reload
wouldn't reconstruct it through the SPA fallback either. There's a test pinning
the encoded href and another pinning that the DECODED value reaches the API.

## Why these two pages don't use svelte-query for their lists

The indexes do — fetched once per mount, so static options suffice and the
cache survives bouncing in and out of a drill-down.

The drill-down lists deliberately don't. Their selection comes from the URL and
changes WITHOUT remounting the page, and this codebase has no
reactive-query-options pattern anywhere; inventing one here would be a larger
change than the feature justifies, and one I can't exercise locally. So they
use $effect keyed on the derived selection with an explicit Load more.

The stale-response guard is a plain `let`, not $state, and that's load-bearing:
as reactive state, reading the token inside the fetch path would make the
effect depend on its own writes. Its job is to discard a late response for a
previously selected genre instead of painting it over the current one.

## Also

Added the year filter to /library/albums' contract but NOT to that page's UI —
its infinite scroll is a svelte-query infinite query, and making it react to a
filter is the same reactive-options problem. The dedicated pages cover the
capability, which is the shape the task offered as its alternative.

Library tab bar's comment claims it mirrors Android's LibraryScreen. These two
tabs have no Android equivalent, so I noted that inline rather than leaving the
claim quietly false. Parity remains an open call.

Not yet done from #367's bullet list: genre/year quick-jump links on album and
artist detail. Year is free (AlbumRef already carries it) but genre is exposed
nowhere client-side — AlbumDetail is AlbumRef + tracks, and neither carries
genre — so it needs a small API addition. Following as its own commit.

bvandeusen 413d729711 fix(web): drift audit batch 5 — SSR redirect + radio exclude cap
test-web / test (push) Successful in 33s
Two web-side findings from the 2026-06-02 drift audit (#552):

- **#559** /library and /playlists each had a +page.server.ts
file calling redirect(308, ...). The app is configured as
  adapter-static + ssr=false (+layout.ts:5), so +page.server.ts
files only run at build time / dev server — NEVER at runtime in
the deployed build. Direct navigation to /library or /playlists
(mobile bookmarks, hand-typed URLs) hit a blank page or 404. We
worked around this earlier today by linking the nav directly to
/library/artists, but bookmarks stayed broken. Converted both
files to +page.ts (universal load) — same redirect logic, runs
client-side in the SPA, which is what actually executes.

- **#554** Radio auto-refresh built its exclude= query parameter
from the ENTIRE queue, growing unbounded each refresh as new
tracks were appended. UUIDs are ~36 chars + comma; with the
common 8KB query-string limit, ~220 tracks is the ceiling. A
multi-hour radio session eventually 414'd; the .catch() ate the
error and the player silently stopped topping up — dead radio
with no user-visible signal. Cap exclude to the most recent 100
ids; the server's RecentlyPlayedHours filter already handles
broader history dedup so the request-side cap only needs to
cover the visible queue's recent tail.

bvandeusen d4c6bb3f2d feat(web): alphabet rail chases pages on click for unloaded letters
test-web / test (push) Successful in 32s
Operator: prior rail disabled empty buckets, so clicking a letter
like 'Z' did nothing if it wasn't loaded yet. AlphabeticalGrid now
accepts a paginated source and walks pages on click until the
target letter surfaces.

- New props: hasMore, onLoadMore. When hasMore=true, every empty
bucket stays enabled (clicking will chase pages); when hasMore=
false, only populated buckets are clickable.
- jumpTo(bucket): if populated, scrollIntoView. Otherwise loop
onLoadMore + tick() until the bucket appears or no more pages.
  Loader2 spinner replaces the letter on the pending button;
cursor:wait + aria-busy. Other rail buttons disable while one is
  pending so clicks don't stack.
- Library Artists + Albums pass hasMore + onLoadMore through to the
grid. Existing InfiniteScrollSentinel still handles scroll-driven
  loading.

Test: new case asserts rail enables empty buckets when hasMore=true
(the click would trigger onLoadMore).

bvandeusen 859aff8d30 feat(web): smart empty-states with action affordances (Tier B6)
test-web / test (push) Successful in 32s
Replace dead-end empty copy with EmptyState cards that include a
clear next step.

- EmptyState.svelte: reusable card with `block` (whole-tab) and
`inline` (sub-section) variants, an actions snippet for buttons.
- Artists / Albums: when the whole library is empty, link to
/settings (the operator can scan a folder there).
- Liked: when all three sub-sections are empty, show a single
whole-tab card ("No likes yet" with Explore Home + Browse albums).
When only one sub-section is empty, an inline hint with a link
  to the corresponding library tab.
- History: "Listen to something" button → Home.
- Playlists: "Create a playlist" button calls the existing create
flow; renamed from "New playlist" to avoid colliding with the
  header's button-by-name lookup in tests.

Liked tab tests updated to match: the previous "three 'no liked X
yet'" assertion is now a single onboarding card test + a sibling
test for the mixed populated/empty case.

bvandeusen be7be6f617 feat(web): quick-filter on Library tabs (Tier B5)
test-web / test (push) Successful in 33s
Add a debounced QuickFilter input at the top of each Library section
to narrow the loaded list without leaving the tab. Server-side
/search remains the route for full-library searches.

- QuickFilter.svelte: 120ms debounced two-way bound input with a
  clear button and Escape-to-clear.
- Artists: filter by name; empty-match copy includes a "Search the
  full library" link to /search/artists.
- Albums: filter by title + artist_name; same fallback link.
- Liked: filters all three sub-sections (artists/albums/tracks);
sub-section header hides when its filtered length is zero.
- History: filters flatEvents before groupByDay, so day-grouping
  reflects the filter.
- Playlists: filters owned + public by name; owners CTA stays.

Covered by QuickFilter unit tests (debounce + clear + Escape).

bvandeusen 6e6fbc7856 feat(web): top-bar centered nav + Library tab page (replace sidebar)
test-web / test (push) Successful in 32s
Operator 2026-06-01: "navigation layout and library sections are
what I'd like to have implemented as it seems better than our
current navbar solution. I think I'd like to have these nav options
moved into the top bar centered."

Top-bar restructure:
- Centered nav (replaces the 192dp left sidebar): Home / Library /
Discover, with icons + labels. Labels collapse below sm breakpoint
so the bar stays icon-only on small viewports.
- Right side (search input + user dropdown) unchanged.
- Hamburger button + MobileNavDrawer + the mobileNav store all
removed - the centered nav lives at all viewport sizes.

Library page restructure (mirrors Android LibraryScreen):
- New routes/library/+layout.svelte renders a tab bar across the
  five Library sub-pages: Artists / Albums / Liked / History /
Playlists. Active tab gets an accent underline + onSurface text.
- routes/library/+page.server.ts redirects bare /library to
  /library/artists (Android default tab).
- /playlists (list) moved to /library/playlists; old URL gets a 308
  redirect (routes/playlists/+page.server.ts) so existing bookmarks
land on the new location. /playlists/[id] (detail) is unchanged -
matches the server API URL shape.

Deleted: Shell's sidebar markup, MobileNavDrawer.{svelte,test.ts},
the mobileNav store, the old routes/playlists/+page.svelte. Shell
test rewritten to assert the new 3-item centered nav; playlists
test moved next to its new +page.svelte and its test-utils import
path updated.

bvandeusenandClaude Opus 4.7 efa52484d4 fix(web): add player stub to player-store mocks for TrackRow tests
#401 introduced player.current?.id reads into TrackRow.svelte and
PlaylistTrackRow.svelte, breaking 26 test cases across 6 files whose
existing vi.mock('$lib/player/store.svelte', ...) blocks only stubbed
the functions used by the original components.

Added player: { current: undefined } to each affected mock — keeps
the existing function spies and lets the new isCurrent derivation
read a defined (false-y) player.current without blowing up.

Only updated the 6 files that failed; 16 other player-store mocks
exist across the suite but their tests don't render Track/Playlist
rows so the derivation never fires. Future tests that render those
rows will need the same stub (visible at the failure point with a
clear error message).

bvandeusenandClaude Opus 4.7 9acad5461e refactor(web): extract emptyPlaylistsMock + apiClientMock test helpers
The DRY pass audit (#375) found two inline mock patterns repeated across the
vitest suite: a default empty-playlists mock for $lib/api/playlists (4 exact
copies in menu/card tests) and an api-client spy mock for $lib/api/client
(9 callers split between get-only and full-RESTy shapes — unified into one
helper that always returns all four verb spies).

Mirrors the existing test-utils/mocks/likes.ts and test-utils/mocks/quarantine.ts
convention. Tests with intentionally divergent shapes (AddToPlaylistMenu's
richer createPlaylist payload, PlaylistCard's getPlaylist, route-specific
mocks, events.svelte's specific resolved value) stay inline.

bvandeusenandClaude Opus 4.7 9b4f907db6 refactor(web): sweep 24 test files to use makeTrack/makeTracks fixtures (#375)
Replaces inline TrackRef literal redefinitions with calls to the
test-utils helper. Tests that asserted on default field values
(e.g. track titles, artist names rendered in the DOM) keep explicit
overrides; tests that only need a stub for shape now use makeTrack()
with no overrides.

PlaylistCard.test.ts, PlaylistTrackRow.test.ts, and playlist.test.ts
SKIPPED — they use PlaylistTrack (with track_id/added_at), not TrackRef.
ArtistCard.svelte and +page.svelte route files (matched by initial grep)
SKIPPED — live code, not test files.

bvandeusenandClaude Opus 4.7 7e8d19606a refactor(web): sweep test files to use empty likes/quarantine mocks (#375)
Replaces duplicated inline vi.mock('$lib/api/likes', ...) blocks with
the emptyLikesMock() helper, and (where previously left in working
tree by a parallel quarantine sweep) rolls in the matching
emptyQuarantineMock() switchovers in the same files.

Together with commit dd67f28 — which already swept the four search/*
test files for likes — this completes the 18 likes-mock conversions
called out in #375.

LikeButton.test.ts kept inline — it uses a state-driven mock to
assert the toggle behavior.

SKIPPED:
- liked.test.ts: re-exports createLikedTracksInfiniteQuery and the
album/artist variants that emptyLikesMock() doesn't provide.
- playlist.test.ts: hand-rolled { subscribe, data } stub instead of
  readable(...) — different store contract.

bvandeusen cd0b9c97e1 fix(web/m7-365): align /library/history with albums-page conventions
Code-quality review flagged convention drift from sibling library
pages. Aligning so the history page matches the same shape:

- queryStore + $derived($queryStore) pattern (single subscription
  point) instead of $query.X everywhere.
- h1 uses font-display text-2xl font-medium per FabledSword design
  system (weights 400/500 only — font-semibold drifted to 600).
- h2 uses font-medium + z-10 for sticky-header layering.
- InfiniteScrollSentinel uses its `enabled` prop (which exists; the
earlier spec note claiming otherwise was wrong) so the observer
isn't recreated on every fetch cycle.
- Loading more… / End of history footers added to match albums.
- onRetry passes query.refetch by reference, not wrapped.
- Dropped redundant `as HistoryEvent[]` cast.

Also fixed test case 4 which trivially passed regardless of the
conditional gate's correctness — now queries the sentinel's actual
DOM root (div[aria-hidden="true"].h-px) and asserts presence/absence.
Added a positive twin test for hasNextPage=true.

bvandeusenandClaude Opus 4.7 45793779df feat(web): infinite scroll on /library/artists and /library/albums
Replaces the explicit 'Load more' button on both library list pages with
an IntersectionObserver-based sentinel that triggers fetchNextPage
automatically as the operator scrolls near the bottom (300px rootMargin).

New InfiniteScrollSentinel component:
- Stays disabled while a fetch is in flight (prevents repeat firing on
  tall pages or fast scrolls).
- Tears down its observer when hasNextPage flips false.
- Defensive against environments without IntersectionObserver (jsdom);
  tests provide a synchronous mock.

Also fixes a pre-existing test setup gap on the albums page test:
AlbumCard renders LikeButton which calls useQueryClient(), and the
page.test.ts wasn't wrapped in a QueryClientProvider — added the same
useQueryClient mock the AlbumCard.test.ts already uses.

bvandeusen 457b94005f feat(web): add /library/liked page with three sections
Each section is its own infinite query against /api/likes/{type}.
Empty sections show 'No liked X yet' (gated on total === 0). Reuses
ArtistRow / AlbumCard / TrackRow for rendering — same components as
the search overflow pages.
