The watch(activeTab) handler loads tab data on navigation, but not on
initial mount when localStorage restores a tab. Three more gaps:
- briefing: was inside the isAdmin guard — non-admin users who last
visited the Briefing tab would see an empty form
- users: no onMounted equivalent — admin user list never loaded
- logs: no onMounted equivalent — admin log viewer never loaded
Moves briefing outside the admin guard and adds users/logs inside it.
fetchApiKeys() and loadMcpInfo() were only wired to the activeTab watcher,
which fires on changes but not on initial mount. If localStorage had
'apikeys' as the last tab, both calls were skipped entirely — causing
an empty key list and no whl download button.
Browser timezone is now synced to user_settings["user_timezone"] on
every login/page load (App.vue). The briefing scheduler and LLM context
both read from this single source, falling back to the legacy
briefing_config.timezone for existing users during migration.
- App.vue: PUT /api/settings with browser IANA timezone on startAppServices
- routes/chat.py: fall back to stored user_timezone when not sent in request
- briefing_scheduler: read user_timezone setting; briefing_config.timezone
kept as fallback only
- routes/briefing.py: pass tz_override from user_timezone to live-patched scheduler
- Remove timezone field from BriefingConfig interface and all briefing UI

Backend:
- Enrich GET /api/chat/models to also hit /api/ps and return loaded:bool
and modified_at alongside name/size, using parallel gather
Frontend (Settings → General):
- Model list: each row shows name (monospace), size (GB/MB), 'in VRAM' badge
if currently loaded, 'default' badge if it's the configured default
- Delete button per row; disabled while deletion in progress
- Pull form: text input (Enter submits) + Pull button
- Suggestion chips for qwen3:7b/14b/4b, llama3.1:8b, nomic-embed-text;
disabled if already installed
- Progress display during pull: status text + determinate bar when
Ollama reports total/completed, indeterminate animation otherwise
- Refresh button reloads the list; list auto-refreshes after pull/delete
- Link to ollama.com/library for model discovery

Project view:
- Add inline status advance buttons on kanban task cards (todo→in_progress,
in_progress→done); buttons reveal on hover, stop link navigation
Task viewer:
- Back button navigates to task's project instead of /tasks when project_id set
- Esc key navigates to project (or /tasks); blurs focused element first
Quick capture:
- Use user's configured model instead of hardcoded Config.OLLAMA_MODEL
- Remove create_project from classifier prompt (tool not offered, caused
task-shaped inputs to silently fall through to note fallback)
Briefing scheduler:
- Fix get_event_loop() → get_running_loop() so background thread uses the
correct hypercorn event loop (jobs were scheduling but never executing)
- Suppress bare greeting when both LLM synthesis lanes return empty
RSS feed UI (SettingsView):
- Show last-fetched age, category badge, and feed URL per row
- Category input field when adding a feed
- Refresh all button: fetches latest items, reloads list, toasts with count
- Enter key submits add-feed form; better empty-state hint with example feeds
Weather tool:
- Accept any city/region name in addition to 'home'/'work'/'all'
- Geocodes via Nominatim + fetches live from Open-Meteo for arbitrary queries

navigator.clipboard.writeText() requires a secure context (HTTPS) and
silently fails on http://. Add an execCommand fallback so the API key
copy button works on non-secure dev instances.

After creating a key, two download buttons appear:
- 'Download .env' — pre-filled FABLE_URL + FABLE_API_KEY
- 'Download Claude config' — ready-to-paste mcpServers JSON block
Also adds Future Task A (in-app install instructions) and Future Task B
(Forgejo MCP) to the implementation plan.

The watch(activeTab) only fires on changes, not the initial value.
When localStorage had settings_tab="briefing", onMounted skipped
loadBriefingTab() so the form always showed default empty values.
Follows the same pattern already used for the groups panel (line 338).

BriefingSetupWizard and SettingsView had hardcoded initial objects that
predated the new fields, causing TS2345 type errors.

Briefing slots (4am/8am/12pm/4pm) now fire in each user's local timezone
rather than UTC, so the schedule matches the user's actual day.
Backend:
- briefing_scheduler: replaced 4 global UTC cron jobs with per-user
CronTrigger jobs keyed to the user's IANA timezone; update_user_schedule()
live-patches the scheduler when config is saved (no restart needed)
- Catchup logic evaluates missed slots in the user's local timezone
- put_config route calls update_user_schedule() after saving
Frontend:
- New Timezone section in Briefing settings: text input pre-filled from
browser (Intl.DateTimeFormat) with a Detect button for re-detection
- Slot times shown as fixed local times (4:00 am etc.) with the configured
timezone displayed beneath, replacing the old UTC-conversion display
- timezone field added to BriefingConfig type and default
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Add °C/°F toggle in briefing settings; persisted in briefing_config.temp_unit
- briefing_pipeline reads temp_unit and converts Open-Meteo Celsius values
before passing them to the LLM (both full compilation and slot injection)
- Scheduled Slots section now shows each UTC slot time converted to the
user's browser local time, plus a line confirming which timezone the
browser is using

- Dockerfile: ARG BUILD_VERSION=dev → ENV APP_VERSION baked into image
- ci.yml: BUILD_VERSION passed as build-arg; set to git tag name on v*
tag builds, "dev" on branch builds
- routes/api.py: GET /api/version returns {"version": APP_VERSION}
- SettingsView: fetches /api/version on mount, displays in About section
under General tab
Version source of truth is the git tag (YY.MM.DD.N CalVer).
pyproject.toml / package.json versions are no longer maintained.

Ports UserManagementView logic (users list, invitations, registration
toggle) directly into SettingsView as a lazy-loaded 'users' admin tab.
Adds loadLogsPanel stub for Task 4. Adds apiDelete import and User type
import at script top.

Replaces the single long scrolling page with a tab bar. Active tab
persists to localStorage across navigation. Admin tab only visible to
admins. Push notifications description clarified to mention HTTPS requirement.

The separate intent model (OLLAMA_INTENT_MODEL / qwen2.5:7b) is removed
from every part of the system. All classification now uses the primary model.
Changes:
- config.py: remove OLLAMA_INTENT_MODEL
- intent.py: remove classify_intent() and all supporting infrastructure
(_SYSTEM_PROMPT_TEMPLATE, _RESEARCH_PREFIX, _PRIOR_WORK_REFS); file now
only contains the quick-capture classifier
- quick_capture.py: classify_capture_intent() now called with Config.OLLAMA_MODEL
- generation_task.py: remove intent_model_setting DB lookup and get_setting import;
history summarization and research pipeline use the primary model directly
- research.py: remove intent_model parameter from run_research_pipeline() and
_generate_sub_queries(); both use the model param throughout
- routes/settings.py: remove intent_model from model-key validation and response
- app.py: remove intent model pre-warming at startup
- SettingsView.vue: remove Intent Model selector and related refs/state
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Default OLLAMA_INTENT_MODEL to qwen2.5:1.5b in code instead of empty
- Add GET /api/settings/models endpoint returning installed models and defaults
- Validate intent_model against installed models on save (same as default_model)
- Replace intent model text input with a dropdown of installed models
- Add chat model dropdown to Assistant settings section
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- CalDAV integration: per-user calendar config, create/list/search events
via caldav library, LLM tools for calendar operations from chat
- LLM-suggested tags: new tag_suggestions service prompts LLM with existing
tags and note content to suggest 3-5 relevant tags; exposed via API
endpoints (suggest-tags, append-tag); integrated into editor views
(suggest button + clickable pills) and chat tool calls (pills in
ToolCallCard with one-click apply)
- Settings/model UI refinements, generation task improvements

Phase 5.4 — Application Logging:
- AppLog model + migration 0010 for unified audit/usage/error logging
- Usage logging middleware in app.py (after_request for /api/* requests)
- Error logging in 500 handler with traceback capture
- Audit logging for auth events (register, login, login_failed, logout,
password_change) and admin actions (backup, restore, user_delete,
registration_toggle, smtp_config, smtp_test)
- Admin log viewer (LogsView.vue) with stats, category/search/date
filters, paginated table with expandable detail rows
- Admin logs API endpoints in admin.py (GET /logs, GET /logs/stats)
- Configurable retention via LOG_RETENTION_DAYS with hourly cleanup
Phase 5.5 — SMTP Email Notifications:
- aiosmtplib dependency for async email sending
- Email service (services/email.py) with STARTTLS/implicit TLS support
- Notification service (services/notifications.py) for security alerts
and task due date reminders with per-user preferences
- Admin SMTP config endpoints (GET/PUT /api/admin/smtp, POST test)
- SMTP config in Config class with env var + Docker secret support
- Settings UI: notification preferences for all users, SMTP config
section for admin with test email
Other changes:
- stream_chat() now accepts optional options dict (for num_predict)
- Increase assist MAX_BODY_CHARS from 3000 to 8000
- get_user_by_username() added to auth service
- apiStreamPost buffer processing refactored for robustness
- AppHeader: admin Logs nav link
- Router: /admin/logs route
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
- Registration auto-closes after first user; admin can toggle from /admin/users
- Admin user management view with user list and delete
- Password confirmation on registration form
- Password change in Settings (PUT /api/auth/password)
- Session cookie hardening: HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, optional Secure flag
- Startup warning when SECRET_KEY is default
- Production deployment docs: reverse proxy, rate limiting, CSP headers
- Fix assist prompt to preserve markdown headings in target sections
- Simplify prod compose networking

Replace plain textarea with Tiptap (ProseMirror) WYSIWYG editor for notes
and tasks. Headings, bold, lists, and code blocks now render inline while
editing. Tags and wikilinks get visual highlighting via decoration plugins,
and autocomplete uses @tiptap/suggestion with heading disambiguation.
Layout: pin navbar with app-shell flex column (100dvh), sticky editor
toolbar above scrolling content, AI Assist panel fixed at bottom 1/3 with
full-height section selector and prompt. Increase max-width to 960px
across all views. Hide assist controls during streaming/review.
Other fixes: markdown paste handling, auto-syncing assist sections via
body watcher, trailing newline on AI accept, ChatView height fix.
Add README.md describing the app, usage guide, and technical overview.
Update summary.md with Phase 5.2 roadmap and current status.

Improve chat context: build_context() now returns metadata about auto-found
notes, emitted as an SSE event so the frontend can display context pills
showing which notes influenced the response. Users can promote notes for
deeper context (+) or exclude irrelevant ones (x). A note picker lets users
manually attach notes. Multi-word search uses per-term AND matching, and
auto-search iterates keywords individually for broader OR-style coverage.
Standardize styling: introduce CSS design tokens (--radius-sm/md/lg/pill,
--color-success/warning/overlay, --focus-ring) and migrate all components
to use them. Fix header alignment to full-width, add active nav link state,
replace hardcoded colors with CSS variables, and normalize button padding.

Replace the asyncio.create_task() fire-and-forget pattern for model
downloads with SSE streaming that relays Ollama's pull progress in
real time. The frontend now shows live download percentage instead of
a static "Pulling..." label with blind polling.
- routes/chat.py: SSE streaming endpoint with 1800s timeout
- stores/settings.ts: pullModel uses apiStreamPost with onProgress callback
- SettingsView.vue: live "Downloading 42%" display, removed polling/setTimeout
- summary.md: updated to reflect SSE streaming for model pulls
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
