Step 2 of the Scribe -> Grimoire rename.
- src/scribe -> src/grimoire, and every import, patch target, module path,
hypercorn entry point and `python -m grimoire.restore` with it; pyproject,
uv.lock and the frontend package are named grimoire.
- Image git.fabledsword.com/bvandeusen/fabledgrimoire; CI's Postgres service
runs as grimoire / grimoire_test.
- Compose files default the DB user, database and (prod) volume to grimoire,
each overridable from .env, so an install created as Scribe keeps its data
by setting POSTGRES_USER, POSTGRES_DB and PGDATA_VOLUME.
- Backups are written as grimoire-<ts>.tar with format grimoire-backup-tar.
Archives named scribe-* with the scribe-backup-tar manifest still restore
and are still counted at the destination (folder and S3), with tests.
- Exports, the MCP auth realm, the ASGI scope key and the persistent logger
carry the new name.
Kept on purpose: the secret-sealing key label stays "scribe.secrets.v1",
because every stored secret was derived under it.
Plugin identity (plugin name, hooks, env vars, .scribe marker, skills) is
step 3.

Step 1 of the Scribe -> Grimoire rename: every capitalised "Scribe" in prose
becomes "Grimoire" ("Fabled Scribe" -> "Fabled Grimoire") across the UI,
the PWA manifest and page title, the MCP instructions and tool docstrings,
hook and skill text, docs and README, with the tests that assert on that
prose moving with it. Old migrations keep their wording.
Identifiers are untouched here: the package, plugin name, MCP server key,
hook file names, env vars, the .scribe marker and FabledScribe repo/image
names move in steps 2 and 3, along with prose that quotes them.
The sweep matched "Scribe" only as a whole word, so describe/subscribe and
friends are untouched. The longer name took the MCP instructions one
character over their 1,600 budget; two phrases are shortened to fit.

Ten more test files: issue, milestone, rule, decision and snippet numbers
come out of docstrings, comments and messages; the preference door states
what a preference is instead of quoting the framing; the JSON reader says
why jq is not assumed instead of what every hook used to do; the backup
round trip's column warning no longer claims the import side is unguarded.

The shape ledger showed the same test scaffolding defined over and over:
_bind_user x12 (byte-identical), _dispose_engine x10 in three wordings,
_no_supersession x3, _make_mock_session x7 in three subsets, a get-or-create
User helper x2 (+3 inlined), and fifteen hand-rolled MagicMock note factories
each re-explaining the same "an auto-MagicMock attribute is truthy" hazard
(note 2109).
Now: conftest.py carries _bind_user / _dispose_engine / _no_supersession as
opt-in fixtures (pytestmark = usefixtures(...) per module, so unit tests pay
nothing), and tests/helpers.py carries make_mock_session(), ensure_user() and
fake_note(**attrs) — the hazard documented once, real values on every
attribute the product reads. Call sites were rewritten by AST so titles with
dashes and commas survived; the three SimpleNamespace _note stand-ins that
only feed a single function stay local.

Both integration tests built the same username; the second insert died
on users_username_key. 19 passed, 1 error on run 3802.

Decision #2686: the recorded location is the source of truth for a
snippet's code; the stored body is a cache of it. data.provenance now
records what the cache is a cache OF — commit_sha + fetched_at — as a
carried JSONB field following the verification precedent, so no
migration is needed and absence keeps today's exact semantics.
The rules: provenance follows the code (fresh SHA restamps it, a code
edit without one drops it, a metadata edit carries it); writes ABOUT
the code carry it — record_verification rebuilds data from scratch and
would otherwise erase it silently; an ok verdict at a known commit
restamps it, since the checker just proved the cache matches the source
there. verify_snippet verdicts also record the commit they ran at,
making "the repo moved on since the check" computable once the forge
integration lands. create/update/verify MCP tools take commit_sha
(git rev-parse HEAD — free for any session with a checkout).
Unit tests pin the compose/carry logic; real-Postgres integration tests
run create→verify→update end-to-end (#2663: DB paths get no
mocked-only coverage).
