rename(547): the server is grimoire — package, image, DB defaults, backups

Step 2 of the Scribe -> Grimoire rename. - src/scribe -> src/grimoire, and every import, patch target, module path, hypercorn entry point and `python -m grimoire.restore` with it; pyproject, uv.lock and the frontend package are named grimoire. - Image git.fabledsword.com/bvandeusen/fabledgrimoire; CI's Postgres service runs as grimoire / grimoire_test. - Compose files default the DB user, database and (prod) volume to grimoire, each overridable from .env, so an install created as Scribe keeps its data by setting POSTGRES_USER, POSTGRES_DB and PGDATA_VOLUME. - Backups are written as grimoire-<ts>.tar with format grimoire-backup-tar. Archives named scribe-* with the scribe-backup-tar manifest still restore and are still counted at the destination (folder and S3), with tests. - Exports, the MCP auth realm, the ASGI scope key and the persistent logger carry the new name. Kept on purpose: the secret-sealing key label stays "scribe.secrets.v1", because every stored secret was derived under it. Plugin identity (plugin name, hooks, env vars, .scribe marker, skills) is step 3. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

docs(6209): the remaining test files — lessons, reply moment and shape, retrieval specs and scopes, rule doors and judgments, services, snippets, search scope; five tests renamed to their property

Docstrings, section headers and assertion messages drop the record number, milestone or step that introduced the behaviour, and incident accounts are restated as the present-tense failure shape. A dead pointer to a design doc that is not in the repo is removed. Renamed to the property they check: test_the_old_shape_would_be_caught -> test_a_rank_then_scope_query_is_caught test_a_ledger_repeat_no_longer_produces_that_case_at_all -> test_a_ledger_repeat_is_counted_not_withheld test_the_header_no_longer_promises_once_per_session -> test_the_header_explains_the_seen_marker test_the_portal_case_no_longer_stamps_one_canon_onto_a_whole_file -> test_one_canon_is_not_stamped_onto_a_whole_file test_the_repos_own_prose_no_longer_defines_with -> test_the_repos_own_prose_does_not_define_with test_the_original_regression_create_note_with_content -> test_the_real_server_refuses_content_on_create_note Fixture and example ids stay: "note 5" in a supersession chain, "rule 156" in an illustrative question, `#2275` as the hex-versus-citation case, `#3244` as the example of a bare number, fixed dates in date-filter tests. feat(embeddings): every vector records the model whose space it lives in (#4132)

The four embedding tables stamped chunker_version but not the model, and vector(384) is a width, not an identity: a same-width model swap would write a second geometry beside the first with no error. - embedding_model on note/rule/milestone/system embeddings (0109; existing rows stamped with the only model any install has ever run). - Every write stamps EMBEDDING_MODEL; every backfill's "current" test is is_current_stamp(), both halves of calibration_stamp(). - migrate_floor refuses while any row its surface searches is off the live model, before sampling: re-embed, then migrate. fix(tests): a Result's .all() is sync, and the module has a fourth tool (#4104)

Two failures in the tests added with the step, both mine. `make_mock_session` is an AsyncMock and every child of an AsyncMock is one too, so leaving `.all` as it came handed `migrate_floor` a coroutine where it reads a list — the same trap the helper's own docstring already flags for `add`. And the registration test enumerated three tools by name, which is exactly what it is for: `migrate_retrieval_floor` made it four. feat(retrieval): a tuned number carries the space it was measured in (#4104)

Milestone 416 step 6. A retrieval floor is a cosine similarity, which only means something inside one embedding model's geometry over documents cut one particular way. Change either and every floor on the install keeps applying while describing nothing — and nothing anywhere says so, because the scores simply come out different and the bar goes on cutting. `CHUNKER_VERSION` already solved this for documents: stamped per row, so the backfill re-embeds precisely what is stale. The same idea, applied to the numbers: - `calibration_stamp()` — embedding model + document shape, one definition. TWO fields, never a fused string (rule 149): a mismatch has to say WHICH half moved, because they call for different responses. - `retrieval_tuning_events` gains `embedding_model` / `shape_version` (migration 0104), stamped on every write. Nullable and NOT backfilled — "unstamped" is the honest answer for a row written before this existed, and it reports as `stale: null`, never as fine. - `current_settings` reports calibration per dial: tuned rows from their event, untouched dials from the registry default's own stamp. - `retrieval_surfaces` and the Settings panel show the mismatch. The panel renders ONLY when something is stale, so seeing it at all is the signal. - `migrate_floor` / `migrate_retrieval_floor` answers "a path for thresholds to be inherited by the next model so that they don't have to recalibrate a lot": the raw cosine cannot cross models, but the PERCENTILE it represented can. Measure what fraction of a surface's logged calls the old floor admitted, re-score those queries under the current model, take the value admitting the same fraction. Dry run by default; applying writes an ordinary tuning event with the arithmetic in its reason. Nothing auto-retunes. A stale stamp says a number is no longer a measurement; it does not say what the number should be, and #4102 measured the one case where the statistic and the correct action pointed opposite ways. The load-bearing test is an ABSENCE: no chat-model identifier may appear anywhere in the calibration path. Claude produces none of these scores, so a Claude upgrade must trigger nothing — a false alarm here teaches the operator to ignore the real one on the day bge-small becomes bge-base. Backup v17 carries both columns, unfilled on the way out and on the way back: a round trip must not turn "we don't know" into a stated fact.
