rename(547): the server is grimoire — package, image, DB defaults, backups

Step 2 of the Scribe -> Grimoire rename. - src/scribe -> src/grimoire, and every import, patch target, module path, hypercorn entry point and `python -m grimoire.restore` with it; pyproject, uv.lock and the frontend package are named grimoire. - Image git.fabledsword.com/bvandeusen/fabledgrimoire; CI's Postgres service runs as grimoire / grimoire_test. - Compose files default the DB user, database and (prod) volume to grimoire, each overridable from .env, so an install created as Scribe keeps its data by setting POSTGRES_USER, POSTGRES_DB and PGDATA_VOLUME. - Backups are written as grimoire-<ts>.tar with format grimoire-backup-tar. Archives named scribe-* with the scribe-backup-tar manifest still restore and are still counted at the destination (folder and S3), with tests. - Exports, the MCP auth realm, the ASGI scope key and the persistent logger carry the new name. Kept on purpose: the secret-sealing key label stays "scribe.secrets.v1", because every stored secret was derived under it. Plugin identity (plugin name, hooks, env vars, .scribe marker, skills) is step 3. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

docs(6209): the remaining test files — lessons, reply moment and shape, retrieval specs and scopes, rule doors and judgments, services, snippets, search scope; five tests renamed to their property

Docstrings, section headers and assertion messages drop the record number, milestone or step that introduced the behaviour, and incident accounts are restated as the present-tense failure shape. A dead pointer to a design doc that is not in the repo is removed. Renamed to the property they check: test_the_old_shape_would_be_caught -> test_a_rank_then_scope_query_is_caught test_a_ledger_repeat_no_longer_produces_that_case_at_all -> test_a_ledger_repeat_is_counted_not_withheld test_the_header_no_longer_promises_once_per_session -> test_the_header_explains_the_seen_marker test_the_portal_case_no_longer_stamps_one_canon_onto_a_whole_file -> test_one_canon_is_not_stamped_onto_a_whole_file test_the_repos_own_prose_no_longer_defines_with -> test_the_repos_own_prose_does_not_define_with test_the_original_regression_create_note_with_content -> test_the_real_server_refuses_content_on_create_note Fixture and example ids stay: "note 5" in a supersession chain, "rule 156" in an illustrative question, `#2275` as the hex-versus-citation case, `#3244` as the example of a bare number, fixed dates in date-filter tests. feat(500): retire the fixed-question preference arm - completion-report preferences ride the moments

report_preference searched one constant string when a task closed and handed matches back as update_task's reply_preferences. Milestone 500 step 3 delivers the reply shapes and the preferences mounted beside them on the moments, so the arm goes, whole (rule 22): - services/reply_preferences.py, the REPORT_PREFERENCE RuleArm, its re-scorer and corpus entries, and the REPORTPREF constants - update_task's reply_preferences block and its cue; the docstring now points at moment_rules - the fixed_query field and the fixed_query_never_clears warning: this arm was the only one that set it, so the concept and the cannot_decline exemption go with it - the two Settings fields for its floor and budget - migration 0121 deletes its rows (logs, judgments, rule-usage events, tuning history, settings keys), operator-approved 2026-10-09. Without it the readout would call the source unregistered and its surfacings would count as ambient. The unindexed rule_usage delete is bounded by created_at. #5496 (step 4 of milestone 500). feat(family): family canon reaches the session - entry readout, retrieval reach, skill, report cue (milestone 463 step 6, #4992)

CI & Build / Python lint (push) Successful in 2s
CI & Build / TypeScript typecheck (push) Successful in 54s

- enter_project carries a `family` key, but only when the project has something to answer: counts of unassessed, owed and to-recheck answers, each with the list_family_adoptions call that lists it. It shows on every entry, never by platform touch: entry is when work is chosen, and an unanswered idea is otherwise invisible. - Retrieval: a widened project search (include_global_kinds) now also reaches the canon ideas on the project's platforms. It also reaches their references in the project's languages, or all of them when none matches. An off-platform project gets none, and the plain project filter (the duplicate gate) is unchanged. - Closing a task returns `family_owed`, the owed answers filed while it was open, and the report cue asks for them to be named. - New plugin skill family-canon (moment work.record) covers when to evaluate a promotion, answering in order, what counts as a reason, the precedent reflex and the conflict order. _INSTRUCTIONS, create_note, create_snippet, classify_shapes and reporting-back point at it. The plugin version is minted. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(409): an operator's own reply shapes reach the reply they are about (#4013)
CI & Build / Python lint (push) Successful in 3s
CI & Build / Plugin hooks (push) Successful in 11s
CI & Build / integration (push) Successful in 48s
CI & Build / TypeScript typecheck (push) Successful in 54s

The reporting-back skill ships default shapes; an operator's adjustments to them are preference records. Prompt-time retrieval matches the operator's message, and a shape preference is about the reply, so those preferences were on file and never arrived. Operator's decision (logged on #4013): the server delivers them for a completion report, and the skill asks for every other kind. - Completion reports (option C): closing a task with update_task runs a kind-filtered preference search for the moment "writing the completion report after finishing a task" and returns matches as `reply_preferences` ({id, title, statement, kind}), with a sentence added to `report_back` naming the key. A preference says it is about completion reports through its own when_to_apply; no tag or column. Omitted when nothing matches, and the lookup fails open. - Telemetry: every call logs to retrieval_logs under `report_preference` (empty calls included; a search that never ran writes no row) and hits are recorded surfaced. The source is ranked, so it counts toward pull-through. The bar is the prompt arm's setting until step 6 reads this source's near misses. - Every other reply (option A): reporting-back gains "The operator's own shapes come first". Before a finding, decision, handoff or "where are we", search(content_type="rule") in the words of that moment and follow what comes back. Registered in the ownership guard with reporting-back as owner. - Loading reply shapes at session start (option B) was rejected: it would be a small copy of the preloading milestone 394 retired. Domain-neutral query (pinned); works on an install with no preferences. Plugin version minted. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(409): the reporting reflex reaches every surface a session reads (#4012)

CI & Build / integration (push) Successful in 53s

Step 3 of milestone 409 "Response shapes". Step 2's reporting-back skill only helps if it fires, and only exists in the Claude Code plugin. - scribe_static_context.md and using-scribe (new reflex 11) say: report back in a shape the operator can read, placed from the `placement` block rather than memory, and point at the reporting-back skill. using-scribe also lists it among the sibling process-skills. - update_task returns a one-line `report_back` cue when a task is closed (done or cancelled). A tool response is the only surface every MCP client sees, at the moment the report is about to be written. - _INSTRUCTIONS takes no line: there is no budget without trading out a session-start reflex. The decision is recorded in server.py's comment block so it is not re-litigated blind. - Guards: test_instruction_surfaces_agree pins the reflex and the placement pointer on both plugin surfaces; a tool test pins the cue on closing statuses and its absence on every other update.
